December Nights in Balboa Park this weekend…

December Nights     The annual December Nights festival weekend at Balboa Park kicks off this weekend. Hours are Friday 5-10pm and Saturday noon to 10pm. Attractions include free nighttime museum admission, food tasting booths from more than 15 San Diego restaurants, beer and wine tasting, organizers will light more than 20,000 bulbs in a light canopy over the plaza, SDG&E will give a free string of energy-efficient holiday lights to the first 500 people who exchange a string of regular lights, and a 30-foot inflatable movie screen will be showing clips of extreme skiing and footage of past December Nights. The food-tasting booths will be in the Plaza de Panama, in front of the San Diego Museum of Art and will cost $10 for 10 tickets. The SDGE giveaway starts at 4 p.m. at Plaza de Panama next to the Prado restaurant and the lighting ceremony begins at 5 p.m. Click on the picture in the post for a larger popup of events and attractions.
