Overload Skateshop recently had it’s first after-hours event. We participated in North Park’s monthly Ray at Night art festival. Art was on display, music was flowing, and the crowds were out. The event was a great success and we wish to thank all of those who came. Check out the pics and stay tuned for the next event. Thanks again for the support!

Laser Tattoo Removal: Round 2

A few months ago I had some laser tattoo removal done on my sleeve after deciding I wanted some shading removed. After waiting a few months to let the old ink particles get cleaned away after the first laser treatment, I decided to go in for another round to get some of the deeper ink deposits treated. And as before, I now present my personal account of the experience with photos.

What a weekend! The post will be short as I will let the pictures do the talking.

The lowdown: MTV’s show ‘Scarred’ decided to film a 3 hour live special at Chula Vista Skatepark; Overload and MHough are onsite to represent and skate. First, Playmate of the Year 2006. Second, America’s Top Model of the Year 2006. Third, Wee-man. Fourth, a tank full of live sharks and a motorcycle backflip. Fifth, EHough as photographer. Sixth, MHough is selected to skate. Seventh, a 17-set handrail vs Kenny Hughes. Eighth, Overload represents the event with our new logo t-shirts. Ninth, …why are you still reading this? Go check out the pics!

My first wedding as a photographer

Recently I was invited to be the photographer at a wedding (thanks Allie!). Since I was looking to expand my skill set, build my portfolio, and get some experience shooting weddings and portraits, I agreed to the offer. The wedding wasn’t the traditional wedding and was heavily influenced by Indian and Persian cultures. Also, the bride and groom were both yoga instructors so they incorporated those aspects into their wedding.
It was a great experience and I learned many valuable photographic lessons. The room was lit by natural light so as the morning went on it became a challenge to get the correct light and accurately reflect colors and hues. The portrait shots were also a good learning experience and I realized how hard it is to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time without blinking. Thank you digital camera!
My style of photography is to capture candid moments of smiles, touches, and laughs. I strive to capture the emotions of joy and the overall feel of the day through small, slight, quickly passing moments instead of poses and manufactured shots.
The album is best viewed by clicking on the “View Slideshow” link on the left menu once in the gallery. Then change the size settings to 800×800 and the delay time to 3 seconds. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Laser Tattoo Removal: My personal photo-documentary

laser tattoo removal.jpg     I’ve had tattoos since the age of 15. Over the years I’ve managed to collect quite a few: one of my rib cage, one on my back, a small hip piece, one on my calf, a 3/4 length sleeve, and a bicep piece on the other arm. Some people would say I’m moderately heavily tattooed; nothing too extreme. I’ve always been told how “I’m going to regret those later” along with all of the other ominous warnings, but never really had any tattoos I regret. In fact, i don’t think I could imagine my life without having the tattoos I have. However with that being said, I did happen to recently find myself in a situation where I had some work done and wished I kept things the way they were. This is my personal experience, presented in a photo-documentary, of laser tattoo removal.
