I’ve had tattoos since the age of 15. Over the years I’ve managed to collect quite a few: one of my rib cage, one on my back, a small hip piece, one on my calf, a 3/4 length sleeve, and a bicep piece on the other arm. Some people would say I’m moderately heavily tattooed; nothing too extreme. I’ve always been told how “I’m going to regret those later” along with all of the other ominous warnings, but never really had any tattoos I regret. In fact, i don’t think I could imagine my life without having the tattoos I have. However with that being said, I did happen to recently find myself in a situation where I had some work done and wished I kept things the way they were. This is my personal experience, presented in a photo-documentary, of laser tattoo removal.

I just wanted to share this amazing experience. Saturday I was out surfing at my favorite surf spot, Black’s Beach, with my 2 friends. The weather was absolutely perfect, the waves were great, the water was clear, and the wind was slightly offshore. About 5 minutes after we got in I noticed what I originally thought was an albino porpoise surface briefly then dive back underwater. Soon after, I saw a group of surfers gather around the area and I started hearing everyone saying it was a whale. Not one minute later what surfaces about 15 feet in front of me? A whale! It was amazing. I would guess it was about 20 to 25 feet long and maybe a few tons. It slowly breached the surface for a breath of air and then, just as gracefully, vanished beneath the surface again. I was so close I could see individual barnacles on it’s body. It was, without a doubt, one of the more memorable experiences I’ve had and something I hope I never forget.
If you noticed the site down today it was due to a major upgrade I was performing. I upgraded to the new version of Wordpress, Ella 2.1. It was a pretty major task since I extensively hacked and gutted my original Wordpress installation and theme. I also reconfigured and upgraded my plugins. To help me setup a test environment I loaded XAMPP onto my local computer and began migration process documentation (this is a complicated way of saying I was figuring out the best way to do the migration without messing everything up). If anyone is about to undertake this process, or any major software upgrade for that matter, I can’t stress how important it is to setup test environments. I saved myself a ton of headaches and problems by ironing out the bugs on my local machine before I went into production.
Among some other small styling differences you may notice, the biggest changes are the removal of the ‘Where to eat in San Diego’ and ‘What to do in San Diego’ pages. I just wasn’t all that inspired to maintain those anymore. However, I also added some new features including a sitemap page for easier navigation, some ‘On this day’ links which display events that happened on the current date, and a YouTube page (under construction).
So I hope you enjoy the site. I still have a lot to do as far as nailing down the small styling details so please pardon the dust!
